Answer: "Deflection" or "Squirt" is the natural result of stroking a cue ball with sidespin (left or right). When stroked to the left or right of center the cue ball does not go straight, this makes it necessary for the player to compensate. The LESS deflection a pool cue exhibits, the less a player has to compensate which results in more accuracy overall.
